Description
I don’t know what I’d do without my pinboards. I use them relentlessly, and as my art process became more oriented toward a desktop (rather than a standing macrame rack), I started designing my fantasy pinboard. This is it.
Here are its key features that I rely on:
- thicker foam (1″ thick) keeps my work securely fashioned and allows me to slide my pins in on an angle for maximum security.
- differentiated area for pins and needles that are maintained at a distance from the working surface. The four corners of this pinboard are designed with a little circular spot aimed to store extra pins
- an adjustable stand. I don’t personally ever work on my pinboard while it’s standing, but I do use the stand to pin pieces of work in progress. Sometimes I need the visual.
- a washable cover. The reality is that pinboards get kinda gross looking after a while. They’re easily stained and a lot of fibre has passed along their surface. It’s nice to have a removable cover that can be changed just like bedsheets.
If I were to perfect the design of this board, I’d make it more amenable to pinning while standing. But, if you work from a desktop, it’s a beautifully crafted and well thought-out tool that offers a 110% improvement on any pre-existing pinboard or pinboard on the market. These are also great for blocking squares.
Each pinboard comes with:
- washable foam and frame (powder coated in a colour of your choice)
- a set of 50 pins in a resealable container
- a double-sided cover in a colour of your choice (please note that I sew these myself and am an absolute beginner sewist!)
